Lockdown is the product of many sound design sessions in isolation. Using mandated quarantine during the covid-19 epidemic as an inspiration, I was able to explore my wandering thoughts, the effects on our shared mental health, and the grief from missing our closest friends and family. Lockdown’s exploratory nature takes viewers somewhere new, somewhere out of their own element. In a time when we all need to be swept away, if only for a brief moment, this piece will take viewers to some place far away, and brand new.
All sounds were made with the Moog Mother-32, Processed in Ableton, and performed in tandem via external MIDI with custom visuals from TouchDesigner. Visuals were also controlled with MIDI.
Lockdown was presented as a capstone Interactive Media project for my B.F.A in 2020.
